Numéro art 8

Anne IMHOF  in cover story

The leading magazine on international contemporary art met with the superstar of British art Damien Hirst in his London studio, a few weeks before his show at the Cartier Foundation. He reveals himself, true to form, as a bad boy in front of photographer Lea Colombo's lens. Tim Larlow, a friend of the artist and director of the Design Museum in London, provides us with a very personal account on his new series of Cherry Blossoms paintings. Numéro art also followed African-American art legend Henry Taylor, our other cover star, during his residency in Somerset, where he unveiled his new paintings and sculptures. Finally, the third cover of this issue is devoted to Anne Imhof who, with her major exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo, confirms her status as a truly emblematic artist of our time.

Browsing the pages of Numéro art is also a way to discover the creative minds that matter: the young artists on the French scene who will make the art of tomorrow (from Kenny Dunkan to Manon Wertenbroek), the incredible works by the new master of Japanese photography Daisuke Yokota, an exclusive interview with the immense painter Peter Doig, a special dossier on today's greatest ceramic artists (from Sterling Ruby to Takuro Kuwata), the intimate portraits of Xinyi Cheng, currently on show at the Bourse de Commerce, and carte blanche offered to up-and-coming talents in digital art.
