Numéro art 2
Joan Jonas A legend of art at the Tate
What’s going on this season in the world of contemporary art?
Month by month, from March to August 2018, Numéro Art selected the people, places and events that will make the season, with exclusive interviews (Urs Fischer, Rem Koolhaas, Katharina Grosse, Yuko Hasegawa), portraits of artists with leading exhibitions (Joan Jonas, Danh Vo, Lubaina Himid) but also a focus on unmissable events (Art Basel, leading auctions, PAD Paris, Gallery Week-End, les Rencontres d’Arles) as well as a selection of exhibitions to see and everything you need to know on artistic scenes from the Middle East to Japan. Prestigious special guests Daido Moriyama, the master of photography, and artists Korakrit Arunanondchai and Clément Cogitore have each contributed with an exclusive work to this issue.
Two covers have been created for this issue. Joan Jonas, the legend of video art and performance, has been shot by cult photographer Juergen Teller at the Tate Modern, which is organizing a great retrospective of her work. The other cover features Urs Fischer, the artist celebrated by three exhibitions this season, shot by Chad Moore in his Brooklyn atelier.
